Tribal Public Defender: Daryl A. Rodrigues

Daryl graduated with a Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1994 and was a Thomas Moore Scholar.  In addition he has a Bachelors and a Masters in Psychology from Seattle University and a Masters in Business Administration from Whitworth University where he was also an adjunct faculty member.  He practiced forensic psychology for eight years before attending law school and following law school was a law clerk for the Superior Courts of Benton and Franklin Counties.  He managed a medium sized law firm in Spokane for a few years before opening up his own office.  His practice has always included Criminal Law but he also is experienced in civil litigation and corporate practice.

Assistant Public Defender: Dale F. Braunger

Graduated with a Juris Doctorate from University of Idaho College of Law in 2011.  Along with his J.D., Dale also has a Native American Law emphasis.  He is also an alumnus of Washington State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with an American Indian Studies Minor.  While in law school, Dale worked as a guardian ad-litem for the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Court.

Assistant Public Defender: Jonnie Bray

Jonnie Bray holds a science undergraduate degree and is a Colville Tribal Member.  She has a significant history of working in the legal departments of the Tribes including the Office of the Public Defender, the Prosecutor’s office where she acted as the Tribes’ prosecuting attorney for a considerable time, the Legal Services Office and is now returned to the Public Defenders’ office.  Her experience in all facets of tribal legal practice and deep institutional knowledge is a considerable asset to the department and her clients.
